The Wedding

This picture was taken a few weeks ago at my friend, Mich's wedding. I wore my dad's shirt, Seed pants, bag and Zara lace-up shoes. Read more!

Designers' Style

Wang with his muse, Erin Wasson

Love the shoes!
The floral jackets
I want all my tees to look like this

I think these new breeds of designers have the sickest style ever! I still love my Gucci and Raf but when they come out with stuff that I find almost impossible to emulate (think gold charmed belt and knee-high boots), I turn to other designers for inspiration. And I'm not refering to their designs but its their own personal style that really captures my attention.

The truth is I'm not really jumping off my seat when I see Henry Holland designs but when I see him out and about in London with Agyness Deyn or at the end of his runway show, I got so inspired by his look. Same goes with Alexander Wang. I put my tees in the washer and dryer for so many times to achieve the same effect that he has on his tees. But hey, I love his collections too! Gareth Pugh is another example. He's dark, mysterious and all-round goth. He's awesome!

P/S: If you people noticed, I haven't been writing about myself that much because there was just simply nothing to tell. I've been working 1pm until 10pm, Monday to Saturday for the past couple of weeks. New job and its kinda crazy. But I'm going out this weekend and will take pictures just like the cam-whore that I used to be=)

Jacko

First of all I would like to say that I am not really a huge fan of Michael Jackson. Growing up, I always thought he was a little cuckoo. Even my mom couldn't stop talking about all the procedures he had done on his face and how he burnt his hair on the set of Pepsi ad.

I didn't even bother to mention about his passing on my blog and I find it funny how people started buying CDs from his catalogue, posting videos on YouTube and it was all over the E!News. Before you know it, a tribute concert was planned, a new compilation album was released and Usher was singing at the memorial service.

They suggested that he was murdered and some people even claimed seeing his ghost at his residence. I just think its a case of 'too little too late'. The man is dead. He doesn't care if people buy his album or have his name on Broadway anymore. It should have been done sooner.

The movie (This Is It) was released earlier this week.

Miley Cyrus in Sex and The City 2

She must be like 9 years old when the first season of Sex and The City went on the air.

And here she is now with Samantha herself wearing the same pair of Matthew Williamson dress.

Simplicity

Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2010 taken from HERE

As you might have noticed, the blog had been missing the link to its template for the past couple of weeks. I guess that was just a call for a change. Instead of going for over the top Missoni-like print, I decided to go back to the basic. White, clean and less fuss like Jil Sander and Calvin Klien.

I'm cutting back on the dramas.

Lara Stone Blackface in French Vogue

People are angry over the spread in October issue of French Vogue featuring Lara Stone in blackface. For those of you not in the know, blackface is the makeup (usually burnt cork) used by a performer in order to imitate the image of black people particularly African-American.

The 14-page fashion spread was shot by Steven Klein and styled by editor Carine Rotifeld. But this is not the first time French Vogue come out with controversial, jaw-dropping images. Supermodel Lilly Donaldson was portrayed as a pregnant smoker in April issue of the fashion Bible as a mockery to motherhood.

So... Are we amused?

Lily Allen at Chanel

Photos form HERE

I got a lot of response for my entry about Lily Allen. I guess I should write more about her in the future.

Here's Miss Allen at Paris Fashion Week performing at the country-themed Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld show. She performed her song "Not Fair".

Nope. Katy Perry was not there. Read more!

The One About Chic-Pop, External Hard drives and The Unknown Sportsman

I went to two events last week. One was the product launch for WD at Library, The Curve and the other one is Chic-Pop for Tongue in Chic at Zouk. There was nothing much to talk about for the WD launch because it was just some external hard-disk launch. The buffet lunch was fabulous though=)

As for the Chic-Pop at Zouk, it was actually a bazaar organized by Tongue in Chic. Joyce was there, Jezmine was there but I didn’t really go to them and say hello. Jezmine looked exhausted and Joyce as busy filming the event. I went to the event with Mandy and she was definitely more excited about the whole thing than I am because most of the stuff on sale there was for girls. I saw some nice tees, high-cut Nike and Vans at the guy’s booth but I was not really in the mood for shopping. But I love the way how they totally transformed Zouk into this ‘street bazaar’ like atmosphere. This is not the first time I was totally sober at Zouk though. Ha-ha!

There was also this guy doing some signing at Starbucks KLCC. He is this tennis player or something, but I’m not too sure. I went to say hi, grab my vanilla latte and leave. Nizam and I went to Dome instead and read GQ.

P/S: Just found out that the guy is Fernando Gonzalez 2009, US Open Quarterfinalist. Yes, he's a tennis player=)

In the photo: Chic-Pop at Zouk, Nurita Harith booth, Mandy, Gap tees, Topman skinny jeans, Fourskin shoes, vintage bracelets and rings and vintage oversized clutch (my sister’s in the 90s).

Dream Big

After 5 with Santhiya and Mandy

So we're done with Ramadhan and Eid Mubarak. I know the celebration is for the whole month of Syawal but let's face it, by the second or third day itself the spirit has gone and what's left are just some dirty dishes and not to mention a whole lot of empty money packets scattered all over the lawn.

I had quite an okay Ramadhan and the 1st of Syawal was not too bad either. In fact, I was given the greatest gift in the month of Ramadhan. One of my 'oldest' dreams has finally taken into shape and becomes a reality.

I had my first article published!

Isn't that exciting?! I am just so thrilled and although it might seems like nothing to other people...but this is something that I have always wanted to do. It is like the reason why I am even here in the first place.

I hate to be those people who brag and talk about their mediocre achievement because I am not one of them. But I just want to share my excitement and to all my friends who have always been there for me and listening to all my whining ("I hate teaching". "I hate my life". "Why can't I just be a writer" etc etc)this is for all of you.

So people, you don't have to go and visit www.emmagem.com if you don't want to. I'm just saying... Hahah!

P/s: The photos above are all three of us last month during Ramadhan. And as you can tell, I am the only one in the picture who's counting the seconds for the time to break fast. The girls are just there for some good food at Rasa Timur Restaurant.
