I learned that....

Wearing tee from Springfield, dark jeans from Topman and quilted high-tops from Three Point Six

1. Family always comes first, right before friends. Right?

2. People can buy love and affection but will still ended up fat, alone and miserable (Nope. Not me)

3. Friends fight just to realize how much they need each other in the end

4. I want to be Katy Perry’s friend because she's seems like a lot of fun HERE’S PROOF

5. Lady GaGa doesn’t home-sewed all her outrageous outfits. HERE’S PROOF

6. Nineties music always makes me think of my best friends. Alanis, Jewel, Garbage, Foo Fighters, The Wallflowers, Sarah McLachlan… Are we really that old, sweeties?

7. Writing as a profession doesn’t pay much. Carrie Bradshaw has a lot of $400 shoes, but does she have enough in her saving accounts? Not really.

8. So money is ‘kinda’ important…

9. The title of Catatonia’s song that I heard once and fell in love with in the nineties was “Dead From The Waist Down”. I just found out last week.

10. It’s not easy to pick myself up each time I fall down.

Chloe Sevigny Miu Miu Fall Winter 2010

A lot of people hates this Miu Miu ensemble on her. But through my eyes, Chloe Sevigny can do no wrong.

Catching up

With Tamok and Nizam (wearing Gap tees, Topman skinny jeans, Forever 21 necklace and Larrie bag. Nizam is wearing Lacoste of course. Duh!)

The weekend again. Just the usual stuff. I went out with a bunch of friends, silly talk, coffee, Indian food and also Tamok who's finally embracing his so-called destiny as a teacher=)

Good for him, I guess.

As for Nizam, when he's not busy with his work at the Twin Tower, he becomes the walking billboard for Lacoste. Which is not at all a bad thing. Ha-ha!

Jethro Cave

Nick Cave's son is an IT male model of the moment. He has walked the runways for Paul Smith, Gareth Pugh and Balenciaga and he has also posed for Hedi Slimane for one of his black and white photos.

Fierceness factor: That messy under-cut!

No More Suga

Sugababes has survived more line up change than any other singing groups in music history. But when Keisha left the girl group last September, I have to agree when they say that without her, Sugababes is now history

I'm a sucker for girl group especially from UK. Sugababes is special particularly because they have been in the scene for so long; since I was still in high school. They are are the edgier bunch compared to other cheesy Brit acts at that time (think Westlife, Steps etc.)

But it's all good. I have all their songs on my I-tunes. Good things always come to an end anyways.

I Wanna Wake Up Feeling Like PDiddy!

Tee from Seed and bedazzled earphone from Forever 21

You know what makes the world go round? Its not love, its money. I’ve just started this new fulltime job because apparently writing doesn’t pay that much. I still write for Emmagem. Its just that I still need to have a job with fixed salary to pay the bills, the references (Details, GQ, Vogue etc), all the writer’s essentials (ie: coffee and ciggies) and my countless trips in the name of research to parties, events, launch etc.

I’m feeling sooooo Micha Barton right now! I’m kinda broke and I saw this really fabulous drop-crotch pants at Pull & Bear that I couldn’t afford (tears…). I also have a phone bill that is waaay overdue and not to mention party invitations that I just can’t go to.

But I’m glad that I no longer have to think about lesson plans, waking up at six in the morning, dealing with crazy-ass foreigners or having people who keep on telling me that I am not good enough for them.

There’s just one thing that I missed. I missed walking to the office feeling all fabulous with my bag in one hand, coffee in another and the Twin Tower in the background.

It’s kinda shallow and pretentious but it’s my thing. Don’t judge me…

No Show

In Seed shirt, Topman jeans and canvas bag and Fourskin shoes

So I was a no show at the Topman party yesterday. But Wafi came around 11pm after I finished work and took me on a spin around town. The initial plan was to make it around 12am at any club and dance for a little while before the final song came out. It didn't happen and I ended up dancing around in the car to the music from the late night RnB radio show.

It was kinda sad...

But I was glad to see my new article on Emmagem earlier this morning. I had a lot of fun researching for the article although I almost got sued for the use of a copyrighted image but everything is alright.

Roisin Murphy at Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010 show
Image from HERE

I've been thinking lately. It will be nice to have my own domain name instead of using this one by blogspot. Nice people at Exabytes are currently offering this service along with a free 8Gb Pendrive. I don't know... I was just thinking. In fact I have so many things on my plate these days. A lot of decision making to be done. As for this weekend:
  1. I already RSVP for Topman Party at Zouk later on at 7.30pm. But from the look of things over here (at work), I don't think I can make it=(

  2. New Emmagem's article is due tomorrow yet I haven't even started my research. I think I'll write about Viktor & Rolf or something. Katy Perry was wearing the dress at EMA

  3. My cousin is getting married this Sunday and I have to be there, which can onlymean one thing; one-hour train ride.

  4. Fabulous gift for my sister's newborn baby.

  5. A seven days worth of dirty laundry to be done

  6. This guy who keeps bugging me about a job offer with his "company", although I am not too sure whether the company really exists

  7. Promised Wafi to watch 2012 tomorrow, but still have to be at work up until 10 pm

So yes... My job is killing my social life. But there's nothing else that I can do. I still need to eat, drink 15 bucks coffee and pay my bills.

Oh My Gucci!

One of the most entertaining Malay movie of 2009. I finally got the chance to watch it last week with Shikin.

For a Malay movie, I think this is the closest it gets to Devil Wears Prada or Sex and The City wardrobe. With Louis Vuitton bags flown from Hong Kong for the shoot and stuff from other designers like Hermes, Aigner, Coach, Prada and Jimmy Choo, this movie promises something different from the tiring circle of uninspiring Malay movies of late.

One mill for the opening weekend. That is 'panas'!

The Way We Were.

In Gap tee, Topman jeans and bag, M&S shades and my first leather shoes

I didn’t go to MIFW last week. First of all because my editor thought that I would be busy with my teaching job for the whole week so she didn’t bother to ask me to go with her. I was busy but I can always fake an MC or something if she was really serious about it!

Ha-ha very funny…

But the truth is I have a group of very important people that I had to meet; my best friends of course. I’ll say no to MIFW, NYFW or even Karl Lagerfeld for them. I haven’t seen Shikin for almost three months because of this little ‘thing’ that happened last September. It was all behind us now but I kept on telling her how much I missed her and annoyed her by singing Barbara Streisand’s The Way We Were. Same goes with Sharina and Bayne whom I met only on several occasions for the past three or four months. But Hanis is a different case because she lives like nine hours away from us with her husband. So I guess a few occasional phone calls will do.

We’re best friends since uni. I know that we can’t always be around each other the whole time. But when we are, it feels like nothing have ever changed and we’re still the loud, gossipy, giggly teenagers that we used to be.

Cheers for our friendship!

Ash Stymest

People are buzzing about Cole Mohr but as for me, I think the most sickly fabulous male model of the moment has to be Ash Stymest. He's edgy and he's all over high fashion magazines in the market. He was naked on the cover of March 2009 Dazed & Confused along with Eliza Pressly, cross-dressing and smoking like he doesn't give a shit.

One word: Fierce.

Life Pt.III

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

John Lennon (1940-1980) "Beautiful Boy"

Thank God for the weekend. I can't wait for Sunday. I've been tired and living on takeouts for the past few days. I desperately need fresh air and proper food. My new article about Prabal Gurung is out on Emmagem today. Read it HERE.

Enjoy your weekends people!

The Weekend

Tee from Cheap Monday, jeans and canvas bag from Topman, shoes from Fourskin and shades from M&S

Green Lantern tee from DC, old green cardie, cheap black jeans and graphic bag from Topman

Last weekend, I finally managed to spend some time with a couple of friends around KL. I've been working, writing and travelling back and forth to my hometown a lot since last month. It's been too long since the last time I went out shopping.

I've just started this new job and I am still financially 'shaky'. So I didn't really get to spend a lot last week. But I couldn't resist this very cute black and white Cheap Monday tee that found at Tang's. I know white makes me look fat, but I'll just suck in my guts or not eat for the whole day when I'm wearing the tee. OK, I'm kidding!

But it was lovely to see Wafi, Fyza and Anne again. I'm still waiting for Shikin to call me but that's a whole different story altogether.
And yes, I cut my hair.
