I started this blog in 2007 with very little direction of what it was going to be about. I’ve been changing things and the look of this blog along with my discovery of other awesome blogs like Jak&Jil, KateLovesMe, Fashion Squad and The Selby. I started to lose focus and realize how I’ve been uploading more photos and writing only a few lines of words to go along with it.
If it’s not for ‘Fash-un-able’ I don’t think I will be writing for Emmagem now. Although some people might not share the same excitement as I do, and they say Emmagem is no TiC, I’m still happy now that I get to share my thoughts with a larger group of audience as opposed to just close friends and some people that I went to the uni with.
So now I’m thinking about changing ‘Fash-un-able’ again. After all, this is about fashion and it is ever-changing. I want to ditch all the nonsense and start over. I don’t really want to talk about it but I just have to say that ‘Fash-un-able’ will no longer scream ME!ME!ME! like it used to. This time around it’s more about Carrie B than BryanB.

I've always loved Malacca for its history and the Nyonya food.
Jonker Street bazaar, the red building thing (I still don't know the name) and the rickshaws with all the flowers and loud booming speakers with the tackiest of the tackiest Malay songs on repeat.
But still I think holiday in Malaysia is just fine. I'm not saving for any overseas trip at the moment.
But Paris is not at all a bad idea=)

I haven't been to that many live concerts. I kinda prefer to just hang out or dancing my ass off at the club instead. But I just knew that I couldn't afford to miss the Placebo when a friend told me that they're coming down to KL. I still remember coming home from school listening to their songs particularly 'Every You, Every Me', 'Bitter End' and 'Nancy Boy'. But my fave is their remake of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'. I do have their 2009's Battle For the Sun on my I-Tunes but I somehow feel more connected with the songs from their previous albums like 'Sleeping With Ghost', 'Without you I'm Nothing' and 'Black Market Music'.
The concert was on Tuesday. So I went to work as usual and changed into my Placebo-concert-outfit as soon as the clock struck at five. Ha-hah!=)
It started around 9pm with opening performance by The Twilight Actiongirl. But the only song that I can remember from their set was Kings of Leon's 'Sex On Fire'.
I didn't know what to expect when the band finally took the stage after that. I was not sure whether Brian Molko will scream 'Apa khabar Malaysia' after each songs or will he share another passionate kiss with the guitarist, Stefan Olsdal.
It turned out there was not that much of talking and rambling. Music pretty much did the whole talking (and kissing) part. And as the younger crowds started to sing-along to songs from the current album, I started to pray that there will be songs from their late 90s albums.
Gawd I am soooo-last century!
Thank God they did sing songs like 'Bitter End', 'Infra-red', 'Song to Say Goodbye', 'Soulmates' and 'Taste In Men'. Was crossing my fingers for 'Running Up That Hill' but I kinda knew it was not going to happen. Ha-ha!
I hope they'll swing by KL again and maybe they'll do 'Running Up That Hill' especially for me.

There will be this Gatsby Deodorant Street Fair which will take place at the Ground Foyer of Berjaya Timesquare KL from 10am to 5pm on 17 April 2010.I heard that there will be a lot of fun and excitement going on. They’re going to have the game of what they call ‘airbag sumo’ as well as prizes waiting to be grabbed by the winners. There are also points to be redeemed for attractive prizes from Gatsby.
The best part is participants of the games are eligible to take part in the lucky draw contest where they can win electrical appliances, laptops, cell phone and even cash vouchers worth more than RM 15 000! How cool is that!
I’m not sure if I’m going to take part in the ‘airbag sumo’ thingie because I don’t know how to wrestle, people! But there will definitely be variety of other games that I can take part in. Well...I’m quite good at throwing things,(think Naomi and her cellphone) so I’m sure they have something within my area of expertise=)
I'll definitely drag my friends along to this street fair but if I really, really have to go alone I’ll take the Monorail to Imbi station. No problemo=)
Not sure what I’m going to wear though… Maybe I should go shopping for it?
Why not! I always try to find excuses to go shopping anyways. Ha-ha!
So I'll see you there peeps!

In Penang wearing Topman tee, skinny jeans, graphic bag, Heritage at F21 cardie and Reebok shoes
Photo of Penang is finally here. We didn't go crazy on picture snapping because after one whole day of doing my booth bitch routine, the last thing I wanted to do was to capture my weary-looking face on camera.
We did go around town for some good Penang food but got lost a couple of times (thanks to my friend's GPS) and ended up at Chilli's at Gurney Walk instead of one of those scrumptious asam laksa stalls.
So I went all the way to Penang to eat at Chilli's, alright!?
That and also the the fact that shopping was never really on the list.
Which was a total bitch...
But I love Penang. I love the whole idea of living in an island, seeing tourist with their tops off and having to cross the bridge to get to KL.

I remember going for a huge New Year's Eve party about a couple of months ago...and I can also still remember clearly the day at the beach that we had the morning after.
It was a great start for 2010.
Fast forward to the month of March... I still feel the same although for the past few weeks I managed to do all these:
- Made peace with a friend after several months of silence=)
- Went to Penang for work without spending a dime on anything but food
- Contributed a whoping 10 articles for Emmagem in February
- Watched (50) Days of Summer (Yes, I'm a little bit behind when it comes to movies)
- Prepared three different sets of exam papers for three different groups of students
- 'Unfriended' all those annoying attention seekers on Facebook and move on to Twitter (follow me HERE)
- Discovered this awesome Japanese shop at Sg. Wang (but I still think their killing of whale for meat is SICK)
- Confirmed my tickets to Placebo with Shikin. In fact, have bought new jeans for the occasion=)
- Listed down my spending especially when I go OOC on weekends
So now, could we go to the beach again please?

Topman jeans and Bonia lace-up boots
What I wore to our Middle Eastern dinner yesterday
It was very awkward unlike the way it used to be back then. We were like childhood best friends. We played house together, stayed up late on school nights, laughed at the fact that we all ate a lot and called each other’s names. And I have to tell you that it was some really bad names that we used to call on one another…
So yesterday in between Project Runway All Star and ENews, my cousin called me with ‘that’ name. That very same name from what seems like millions of years ago.
And just like that I started to laugh and accepted her offer to drive me to the train station the next day…
Are we like BFFs again now? Nah!
But do I hate her?
