Esquire's search for Malaysia Best Dressed Real Man is on again! Remember last years's winner Rudolph Christopher La Faber? The preppy guy with handkerchief in his pockets, penny loafers and his pants slightly cuffed up?
Gosh! I will never be that man. I don't even like penny loafers! Lol!
So if you think that you can do better, sign up for the competition by following just a few simple steps. Click HERE to find out all the details.
May the best gentleman wins!

I was invited by my good friend Kenji Chan to be part of the X Top Model Search press conference. It was held at Estate Intermark. I was a bit reluctant at first as I had been taking a long break from attending events two weeks prior to the date due to health reason. But I decided to show up despite the rain and having promised my mom to go back to my hometown that very same evening, which led to my decision to go with my Reebok trainers instead of my usual fancy shoes.

Just like any other X Top Model events, the press conference was crowded with all the familiar faces of KL finest fashion and entertainment circle. Everyone was there. Bloggers, writers, models, beauty queens, singers, actress, designers and then there was me of course.
The X Top Model 2012 Malaysia is the first regional model search cross border endorsed and supported by Tourism Malaysia, Hong Kong Tourism Board and Macau Tourism Government Malaysia. With endless numbers of sponsors which include Bimba&Lola, Converse, Bizzy Body, Skechers, Key Ng and MAGNUM just to name a few, this year's competition is set to be even bigger and better than last year's spectacle.

A closed door door selection was held last weekend at Fahrenheit 88 with model Daren Lee as well as prominent figures in local fashion industry like Faris Waris, Natacha Meunier and the uber fit Peter Toong sitting behind the judging table. The Top 10 will be announced soon. You can actually list down your own favorite and follow the progress on the website HERE and the Facebook page HERE.
The winner this year will walk away with an international modelling contract, a runway debut at Beijing Fashion Week, cash, prizes, sponsors contract worth USD$20K and a fashion spread with Ray Magazine Malaysia which is one of Asia's top fashion magazine. With four other participating countries like Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines; the two selected girls from Malaysia are set to face stiff competition from other finalists at the X Top Model Search Asia Final in Macau.
Who will be the two representatives from Malaysia? Watch this space for the announcement!

I just got screamed at on the phone by my editor for not editing the men's website. My fault. I've been to busy doing other stuff and focusing on the women's website. You should know which one is which by now. She sounded really pissed. I just kept quiet before she finally put down the phone.
I don't know...

I'm at this really strange place right now. I'm not even sure whether I should stay or find my way to get the hell out of here. I overheard a conversation between two guys at MODA 22nd Anniversary last week about how blogs are dying. Well this blog has been around on and off for almost five years. The amount of money I've gotten so far for writing all my craps and put it up here? RM0.00.
Money is a little tight right now. That's all I can say. All the glamorous parties do not pay my house rent or my credit card bills.
I need to figure things out before it's too late.
Ps: It's stupid how the photos are not at all related to the story but what the hell! My head is a mess.

Amidst all the madness and negativity surrounding me, I decided to go back to my hometown for a few days of cleansing and relaxation. Well although I still have to upload stories to the websites and respond to annoying phone calls and text messages that I simply couldn't ignore, it felt so good to not even bother about what to wear in the evening and trying to figure out how to fit both my laptop and iPad into my neon snake-skin clutch.
When I'm at my parents', I sleep in till late, drink like 100 cups of coffee and watch reruns of bad TV until I realized that it's time for another one of those home-cooked meal that my mom prepares for us.
It's a total 180 from my life here in the city. I don't have to fake a smile and adjust my personality because my parents know me so well they can even sometimes read my mind. Now that's kinda scary!
These are things that I always do when I'm in my hometown.
1. Upgrade apps and software on my laptop, iPad, iPod and cellphone
2. Add old and new songs to my iPod
3. Watch Sex and The City on DVD
4. Smoke near open window.
5. Eat beans on toast for breakfast
6. Bitch about nosy close relatives with my mom
7. Discover old stuff that is now cool again like my S&M leather bracelets and short-shorts
8. Read my free copy of Esquire magazines
9. Eat all the leftovers from lunch and dinner. Thanks mom for not judging me.
10. Say hi to my dad's beautiful garden and the birds
When I told my friend Steven that I'm going back to my hometown right after Forever 21 opening at Mid-Valley last week, he said something about how people back home must be excited to welcome a 'decadent' well-dressed young man back to the neighborhood. Yeah my friend Steven is sarcastic like that. He refers to contest winners and those regular people who get invites to launch events and A-list parties as 'commoners'. Ha-ha!
