Guess Who's Performing on the First Day of Twin Towers @Live 2014?

Remember The Twin Towers @Live? The concert series is back for its 4th consecutive year and will host major international and K-Pop acts in conjunction with the PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix Weekend.

Twin Towers @Live already announced its first artist ‘Rain’ as he makes a triumphant return to the live music scene. He will be performing on Saturday, 29th March 2014, the second night of the two-night Twin Towers @Live 2014 concert. The Korean superstar is the first of a series of artists to be announced for the annual extravaganza.

And... we are also beyond excited to announce that Miss Christina Aguilera herself is set to perform on the first day of the concert (28th March 2014) alongside UK's sensation Craig David. Xtina performing here in Malaysia for the first time is quite a big deal but Craig David? Well there must be people out there who can still remember lyrics to his hits like "Fill Me In" and "7 Days". I'm not the one to judge because I still listen to Kavana every now and then...

So Christina Aguilera will be here and she is currently doing very well with her new hit single 'Say Something'. She had a major weight loss and looks whoa-so-fabulous. Let's just hope that she won't cancel on us please... According to People magazine, she's kinda pregnant and that kinda make me nervous.

I guess I see ya at Twin Towers @Live 2014 concert peeps! And yeah it's free, so please come early!

UPDATE- The concert was cancelled (as I predicted) but not because Xtina was pregnant but to respect the victims of MH310 flight which disappeared from radar at the Indian Ocean. Christina Aguilera did come to KL and performed for a smaller scale indoor showcase. I somehow missed the memo and didn't make it to the show :(

Yii: The Only New Local Menswear Designer That Matters Right Now

I was at Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week not too long ago with my friend Rosh whom I decided to drag along in order to tune back her head after so many days of diving under the sea and waking up to the beautiful sound of waves at some island in Indonesia. A night of air kissing with fake fashion queens and delayed fashion show will definitely change back her perspectives.

Guess what?! It totally did! Poor Rosh... I'm quite sure she wasn't kidding when she said "This will be my last fashion show for a verrrry looooong time".

But the fashion show kinda rocks especially one collection in particular from Yii. Never heard of him before and suddenly out of nowhere enter these oversized sweaters, tweed jackets and graphic shirts onto the runway at Whitebox Publika. I was in awe and immediately knew that I have to find out more about the designer.

Yii didn't win the STYLO designer awards that night (it went to Joe Chia) but I managed to pull him aside after the award-giving ceremony for a quick chat and an Instagram photo.

I sent an email the next day to my friend Jaslyn who works for RAPR (the PR company which handles all STYLO events) and asked her to arrange an interview with Yii. I looked him up on Facebook while waiting for Jas to respond and there he was! Yii the designer. Already on my friend list on Facebook under his real name Alan Ooi.

So yeah. I do add people that I find cool and share like 100 mutual friends with on Facebook (although very rarely). Not in a stalker-ish kinda way but the whole point is to widened my connection and make new friends. I have crazy good instinct about talented people and Alan aka Yii is the ultimate proof of that.
It took me a few days to finish Yii's feature story for Emm-a-man after several exchanges of notes and photos. Not because I was having a difficult time to make it good but I just couldn't find the time. And god knows I'm a mother-fucking procrastinator.

Once the feature was up on the website, I sent the link to the designer and he immediately shared it with his friends. Well up until today, the article has 111 shares and likes on Facebook. Never before an article written by yours truly received that much amount of interest. One thing that really got me over the moon is the fact that my article came out before any other publications including The Star lifestyle section. I guess that means something... if not everything.

So if you haven't read the article, here it is in it's purest form on Emm-a-man. Share it, leave a comment and check out Yii's collection because he is going to be huge.

You heard it from me first. for more info

MIMMA is Back for The Second Season!

Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Championship (MIMMA) is back for the second season of the highly successful All-Malaysian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) tournament and reality TV series with a bigger scale than before.Winners of MIMMA 2 will be challenging the current champions for the MIMMA Championship Title Belts with over RM150, 000 in cash prizes waiting for the winners.

MIMMA FC was the first All-Malaysian MMA Tournament organized by Tune Talk in 2013 which is also a reality TV show broadcasted nationwide and region. It saw over 300 aspiring mixed martial artists signing up for the tryouts and 112 potential amateur fighters made the cut to be the Top Amateur MMA fighters in their respective weight divisions.

This year, MIMMA 2 plans to engage fans and mixed martial artists from around the country by bringing the Tryouts to major cities around Malaysia. During Season 1, MIMMA crowned seven champions in the Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight divisions. In MIMMA 2, the tournament will be looking for new champions, with a twist; Winners from this season will be recognised as contenders to challenge the current MIMMA Champions for the championship title. The MIMMA Championship titleholder will be Malaysia’s best Amateur MMA fighter.

However, if any of the current champions have already received an offer or signed a professional MMA contract with an international organization, the title belt for that weight division will be deemed vacant for a new champion from the 2014 MIMMA.

MIMMA Season 2 will be aired on AXN Asia. Airing schedule will be announced at a later date.
